I can't imagine software raid ever being a performance gain and since
the 890 does it's own internal raid as well as FC it's seems a no
brainier to me. luxadm is the command you will need to know intimately.
The disks will have unique WWN's and I have seen setups from Sun where
you had two different cntndn's that were mapped to the same WWN so
beware of that.
