I'd start with the ugliest:

BrightHouse's company lawyer just called me. Told me that they were
disconnecting me in 30 days and have a nice life. Told me my service
exceeded national industry standards. Yet I have a photograph of my
modem going off 7 times today. How could this happen?

It all started with a crosstown move. In my old neighborhood Brighthouse was 
reliable, but at the new house...

Also, I'd leave out the part about "nice middle class". Slums and rich 
neighborhoods can also be nice.
