well... to my system at least....

I recently re-formatted (ok, actually just ghosted it back to when I first
bought it) my main desktop that I do all my video encoding on.

I think I posted on this before, but i'm keeping my machine very clean this
time around and building VMs with all my apps with the exception of my media
apps.

I bought Forest Gump a long time ago and finally got around to ripping to my
media server.... or at least trying. Using all the ripping software i have,
it kept stopping at 2hrs and 2 minutes. The movie is 2 hours and 20 minutes
long.....

Long story short (too late), i decided to dload the latest version of
HandBrake. (Since I had to re-ghost my machine back to a usable state, i'm
obviously talking about Windows and not Linux). It worked like a charm - i
never could get it to work before. It is working beautifully now!

I am even using the h.264 codec instead of DivX or XVid. I hate to admit
it, but someone posted before that DivX was crap and I defended it. Mainly
because i was stupid enough to spend $75 on the POS. Well, its toast... I'm
ditching DivX.
