Subject: Re: [qrp-l.org] OT: Compact flourescents mandated in CA in 2012?
My whole house has nothing but those lights inside and outside and
I'm not having noise issues related to them, they are GE brand. But
once I had one that was bad, it was the same brand as the others but
was a HF nightmare, I tossed it. I have been using them for over 3
years and all but three light bulbs are the original light bulbs.
The one problem with them is that the super bright versions (150W
equivalent) can not be used in any position but upright so I can't
use them on ceiling fans. Otherwise the 100W equivalent models work
fine, and I can see a $25 difference in my monthly bill, in two
months all the bulbs were paid for and I was getting ahead.
I started using them in a house in the country where I had
underground power and the location was incredibly quiet, after
replacing the light bulbs I saw no difference.
