IMHO, that settles the debate:
(a) The flag should never be displayed with the union down, except
as a signal of dire distress in instances of extreme danger to life or
property.
...specifically "...in instances of extreme danger to life or property." While I may agree that our country is in distress as a result of this debacle in Iraq, I would not say that I as an individual is in extreme danger to life or property. I also noticed that there are quite a few things listed in there that are done on a regular basis that would be in violation of the code. How many movies have you seen where the flag is hung flat on the ceiling?
