But that's the same as uname -m. (well I think you meant 14 anyway).
# uname -a | awk '{print $11}'

But I don't think it's accurate. And just to clarify I know how to find
the platform that's uname -p (in this case Athlon) I need to know
for *sure* if the kernel thinks it's running as 64 bit. dmesg oddly
enough no joy.
