I didn't have a 30 minute issue.  The sites I couldn't get to I just plain
couldn't get to.  Other sites worked fine.

I left an ssh -v running for 2 days.  It established a connection just fine
but after 2 days it still hadn't negotiated keys.  A sniffer on both sides
saw repeated TCP retransmits.
