I thought Kindle also had a card slot... so I looked it up:

On the other hand, iPad... no expandable memory at all. You decide on
the size at birth. This is a huge problem with my touch. It's
constantly full, can't expand.
Instead of a jailbroken iPad, I'd rather see a HackPad that ran the OS
and apps, but added much-needed peripherals, like Camera, Microphone
jack (so you can do simultaneous input and output), GPS, MIDI output,
Arduino serial port, etc.
Oh, or we could just create one?

P.S. I would sell my 8GB Touch (1st gen, no volume buttons) to an
interested party, as I may get a Nexus One soon. Also, an N96 camera
phone running Symbian (now with Open Source!) and a really old Sony
Mylo COM-1.
